ALNWICK FARMERS MEETING
On the 11th of Jan a large number of Northumberland farmers met at Alnwick rugby club to hear a talk arranged by AFS Country store. The evening talk was presented by Steve Kenyon from Strathclyde nutrition and John Smith from Harbro. The research that they carry out with the Scottish collages enables them to lay the foundation for the make up of buckets and licks containing Propylene glycol which is used in most twin lamb drenches and Omega 3 fish oil which for years has been the best source to increase milk production on the ewe. They also described how compound feed produced from a rough grist stimulate rumen bacteria to make better use of the feed ingredients
